Use Appointment StopTime to use Appointment to inactive instead of StartTime Users have reported that once an appointment starts, it is moved to inactive and hidden in the client. Some reading rooms allow requesting after the Appointment StartTime and therefore the appointment should remain active in the client lists until the StopTime has elapsed.

Convert Department field to free-text dropdown Department field is a dropdown by default, but most sites would prefer a free-text field and instead use an ItemInfo field. Allow Department field to be coded as dropdown or free-text in web and convert Department database field to dropdown/free-text (like Activity Type and Location fields)

Changing client passwords -- Add support for disclosing requirements Currently, when changing a staff password, the interface presents a person only with a field for entering the password, another for confirming it, a submit button, and a cancel button. If the password doesn't meet complexity requirements as set in Customization Manager, an error is thrown, but only with the message "Password does not meet staff password requirements".
There should be a customizable way to convey to staff resetting their password what the complexity requirements are, both with the initial reset form and with the error message. (Not just reposting the regex, if that crosses anyone's mind, because reading regex…

Submit requests for photoduplication from ILLiad/Aeon integration to Awaiting Request Processing instead of Submitted by User Can implement a routing rule, but this behavior should be built in to minimize confusion. Staff are not in the habit of checking Submitted by User for any other request types.

Remove display of culturally insensitive color names The Aeon options menu includes choices to change the color of the search display when users are disavowed, blocked, or anonymous. The color picker menu includes colors with culturally insensitive names. Aeon should use an alternate color picker menu with hex colors.

Add additional Aeon fields for Z39.50 mapping Boston Public Library is importing their item barcode from their Polaris catalog into Aeon via Z39.50. They would like to be able to map the barcode value to the Aeon Item Number field, which is not currently possible. There is also an ILLiad UserVoice asking for this feature: https://uservoice.atlas-sys.com/forums/581665-illiad-ideas/suggestions/39458122-add-additional-result-mapping-options-for-z39-50

Aeon client - custom search using 'any of' does not allow for editing of criteria Boston Public Library created a custom search based on requests being at one of several identified transaction statuses. After building the search, they realized they wanted to omit one of the selected transaction statuses. There was no way to do this. They had to delete the search and rebuild it from scratch.

Add the ability to clone appointments to other dates through the staff client I find that it can be helpful to clone previous appointments to a patron, with the adjustment of expected appointment date. This can save steps vs creating a new from scratch.

Appointments: Remove start and stop time fields The University of Baltimore requires appointments for patron requesting, but would like to remove the start and stop fields from the appointment form. This will allow staff to have more flexibility with controlling access to the reading room. The appointment configuration fields in the customization manager are not fined-tuned enough to allow for per-visit/per-case flexibility.

Client: Have fields that allow multiple selections from a controlled vocabulary The University of Pittsburgh would like additional data types for custom fields, especially the ability to select multiple options from a controlled vocabulary in fields (custom or default) on the Aeon client side. There is an existing ticket in UserVoice specifically about the research topics field. Pittsburgh would be interested in being able to have multi-select fields in the activity record in order to record necessary stats for activities that fall into multiple categories.

Automatically filter out disavowed users from user search When a user has created multiple accounts, one account will be disavowed via the user merge process. However, that account is typically listed first in search results. When a disavowed user's account is selected in a grid, the special highlighting/text color does not persist. Thus it is easy for staff to get confused and click the wrong user record. It would be helpful to have a button like the Active/All requests toggle, set to active by default, to automatically filter disavowed users out of search results to minimize confusion and prevent staff from re-clearing disavowed users.

Activities - include Activity ID in activities tab view of active activities The University of Pittsburgh has adapted the batch import template to allow for the import of requests into more than one activity. They did that by adding the activity ID field to the template. It would be easier to get the activity IDs if they were included in the fields that display when a staff person clicks on the Activities tab in the staff client and views the current activities. From this view, the table can be exported to Excel. It would be helpful if the activity ID was included in the export. The Activity ID field is not currently…

Allow fields from additional tables to be called in the RequestFromFile process It would be useful to allow custom fields, transaction flags, and notes to upload via the RequestFromFile template.

Appointments - different configurations for different request forms Boston Public Library would like the ability to have certain request forms, based on the format of the requested material, require longer lead times for appointment scheduling that are different from the reading room's typical appointment settings. The University of Pittsburgh would like to have some web request forms that are intended to be used by staff who don't have access to the Aeon client but need to submit requests for preservation, to not require appointments, while the other patron web request forms do require appointments.

Aeon 5.2 includes a status-specific appointment feature, which allows staff to set different lead time and appointment requirements based on user status.
