  2. Attempting to edit an appointment with invalid data throws errors

    Appointments containing invalid data will still appear on the User form and within the Appointment control on the Request form, but the Aeon Client will be unable to open the Appointment form and will throw an unhandled exception error when attempting to edit the appointment:

  3. Rescheduling an existing appointment in the Aeon Client may result in an error if the same appointment is also being edited elsewhere

    Editing the Start Date or End Date of an appointment via the Appointment form in the Aeon Client may result in the following error if the appointment was simultaneously edited elsewhere:

    ERROR AtlasSystems.Aeon.Program - A thread exception has occurred.

  4. Aeon Client dashboard does not properly handle database connection errors

    The Aeon Client dashboard will correctly catch database connection errors, but will then attempt to use the connection, which causes an additional error.

  5. Multithreading error during Aeon Client dashboard refresh

    The following error can sometimes occur in the Aeon Client logs upon a dashboard refresh and may lead to Client slowness:

    ERROR AtlasSystems.Aeon.Program - A thread exception has occurred.
    System.InvalidOperationException: A multithreading issue is detected. The DevExpress.Data.CurrencyDataController.DisableThreadingProblemsDetection option allows you to disable the exception, but it does not resolve the underlying issue.

  6. Aeon Client will throw errors after idle period

    If the Aeon Client has been idle for 30 minutes (for example, if the PC has entered sleep mode) the database connection used by the Client will close and throw the following error in the logs:

    ERROR AtlasSystems.Configuration.Settings - A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server.

    Recommendation: Close down the Aeon Client before putting the computer to sleep or before leaving the computer for an extended period of time.

  7. Aeon Client may crash when loading Client addons after Windows update

    The Aeon Client may crash when loading Client addons that use an embedded browser after Windows update KB5008876.

    Possible workaround: Maximize the Aeon Client window before opening any requests that would load the addon's browser window.

  8. Custom fields are highlighted yellow when added to a custom tab group in the Aeon Client

    Custom fields defined in the Aeon Customization Manager's CustomFieldDefinitions table will display highlighted yellow if added to a custom tab group created on a form in the Aeon Client.

    If the FutureRoutingDays customization key value is blank, the following error will occur when attempting to import requests from file:

  10. Appointments can't be saved using the request form's appointment control if system time zone is UTC

    If the system time zone is set to UTC, the following error is logged when attempting to save an appointment with the appointment control on the request form:

    ERROR AtlasSystems.Aeon.Program - A thread exception has occurred.
    System.ArgumentException: The conversion could not be completed because the supplied DateTime did not have the Kind property set correctly. For example, when the Kind property is DateTimeKind.Local, the source time zone must be TimeZoneInfo.Local.

    Note: This only applies to the system time zone labeled simply as "Coordinated Universal Time," and not other time zones with no UTC offset. It does not occur when both…

  11. Errors that prevent the appointment scheduling tool from loading also affect other areas of the Client

    If an error prevents the appointment scheduling tool in the Client from loading, this will also cause other areas of the Client to become unusable until the underlying error is resolved.

  12. Aeon Client becomes unusable if an appointment is created with an invalid username

    If an appointment is created with an invalid username, this will prevent both the appointment scheduling tool and other parts of the Client such as the list of queues from loading.

    Note: If you experience this bug, please submit a ticket for Atlas Support to resolve the underlying invalid data issues.

  14. Creating or deleting the only reading room configured for appointments while the Aeon Client is open causes errors

    If the Aeon Client is opened at a time when no reading rooms are configured for appointments in the Customization Manager, creating a reading room with the Client still open and then attempting to refresh the Client results in the following error:

    ERROR AtlasSystems.Aeon.Program - A thread exception has occurred.

    A similar error occurs if the Client is opened at a time when one reading room is configured for appointments in the Customization Manager, and that reading room is deleted while the Client is still open:

    ERROR AtlasSystems.Aeon.FormMain - Failed to process refresh request.

  15. Request callslips cannot be printed from an Activity record if any Transaction or Activity context-type custom fields are defined

    Using the "Print Callslips for Requests Awaiting Processing" dropdown option from the "Print Callslips" button on an Activity record results in the following error if any custom fields are defined in the CustomFieldDefinitions table:

    "An error occurred while attempting to print callslips (Ambiguous column name 'Activity ID'. "

    Workaround: Print the callslips for Activity requests from the Awaiting Activity Processing queue or individually from each request record.

  17. Filtering/sorting requests by appointment start or stop time breaks results

  19. "Item0" control in the Customize Layout menu can freeze or prevent the Client from closing.

    When editing template layouts on the main form of the Aeon Client, a layout control named "item0" may appear in the Customize Layout menu, and then will appear as "Root" if placed on the form. Dragging "item0" onto the form freezes the Client, and just opening the Customize Layout menu and seeing it prevents the Client from closing normally.

    These issues may occur in both Aeon 5.0 and 5.1.

  20. Routing a request to another site from the Request form and then opening it from the Request list causes an error

    Routing a request to a site outside of the current database view from the Request form does not refresh the Request list in the Client, and leads to an error in the logs stating "A thread exception has occurred" when trying to open that request from the unrefreshed list.
