New addon suggestion We thought maybe an addon to search the library catalog (we use OMNI as OPAC and ALMA as our library management system at Brock) from within the Ares Client, and then an import button that would bring in the citation information and the call number and shelf location to the item record would be great! Ares doesn't have such functionality right now, but Ares has similar addons for some of its other products, so maybe this could be a good idea for Ares.

chromium Update the Google Scholar addon so that instead of using IE it uses chromium scripting. This would also have to happen in the client. IE is being completely decommissioned in June 2022

IDS Logic integration with Ares We would like IDS logic to clean up requests made by patrons against the items in our catalog, similar to the functionality that already exists within ILLiad. Ideally, IDS would also look up availability and setup routing logic to acquisitions or a review queue if the item is unavailable.

Addons to make Reserve items available in the ILS from Ares At the Access Services Conference in 2017 there was a lot of interest in addons to make Reserve Items available on the ILS from Ares.
Maybe it could be possible to have some generic ones available in the Addon Directory or otherwise easier for sites to create that connection between their ILS and Ares?9 votes -
Support for addons within the Ares item forms This came up because sites want certain fields like ItemInfo2 to be a dropdown. If they make a whole new addon form/tab it's not easy to see, but we think they could have a section of the request form.
