Allow staff to edit multiple items at once from any grid
Multi-select items and change any field to a new value. For example set the shelf location to "Stacks" for 5 various items without opening the records.
Also need to figure out what fields aren't allowed to be edited this way and prevent that.

I agree that this option would definitely be an asset. It is cumbersome to make adjustments to multiple tags individually.

Hmm, we accomplish this in a clunky round about way. We use brackets {} around information our staff wants to pass on to students. Everything is in title order so by having the brackets first we can reorder the items as instructed by the Faculty.
Using tags or even the item order field would be useful, If it can be edited from the Course Items window.

We would like to do this with tags. Here's the use case:
The use case for editing multiple tags at once is pretty straightforward. We use instructors tags to identify weeks or class sessions for assigned readings. Professors often change around the order of their lectures. We would like to be able to change the tags for the assigned readings for week 1 to week 3 for example. We would need to be able to select or check off the items that we wanted to change.
