Allow creation of custom Activity emails or disable option in Customization Manager
In the Customization Manager, it is possible to create User, Transaction, and Activity type emails. However, the Activity emails are not accessible from the client once created. The only Activity email is the template.
These emails should either be made available from the Activity details or the option should be disabled.

Hi Steve,
Thanks again - this is great feedback! I will certainly raise this issue during our next Product Team meeting. I'm not certain if not providing the option to email from an activity was an oversite or a design decision, but it does sound like we should add this option to the Activity.
As for the email templates populating unique contact information, we have another UserVoice enhancement for that here: https://uservoice.atlas-sys.com/forums/568075/suggestions/33635566. That functionality is planned for the next version of Aeon (4.1), which we plan to release in early summer. The idea is that the email templates will use site-specific entries in the Local Info table in the customization manager to populate the email template based on the database connection file.
I'll keep you posted here about the activity email button. Feel free to add a vote to the enhancement above for the site-specific emails.
Thanks!

Hi Katie,
Yale Special Collections could leverage Activity emails in a number of ways: reminding participants that the event is upcoming and their selections are needed by some date; that the exhibit is over and that preparators are expected to rehouse material by some date; that the item out to vendor has been returned for QC at A-unit and is expected to return to B-unit by staff-member XYZ -- you name it.
The most pressing need for us, though, is that most Yale repositories share the same Aeon instance: when we use the Notify Users button in the Activity, the message comes from the Aeon default email address, which for this instance is my department. If staff from other repositories want to use this feature, it appears that their Activity notification is coming from my repository, not theirs, leading to confusion among faculty, students, and others who aren't conversant with our Aeon instance's peculiarities.
Another solution would be to somehow allow transaction email templates (which are functionally limitless) to be able to pull from the Activity Database. As of right now, even when employing Activity database tags in such a template, Activity data (beyond the Activity ID associated with the specific transaction) cannot be imported into transaction emails -- well, at least as far as I have been able to discern!

Thank you both for your comments. Could you provide more information about the types of emails you'd like to be able to send from the activity? Something like a confirmation email in advance of the event? These details will help us write a better story to present for potential development.
Thanks,
Katie -

As a staff member at the Yale Special Collections who uses the activity feature very heavily, the ability to send emails from the Manage tab in the Activity window is crucial to have. I would strongly urge Atlas to reconsider the current set-up.

Many of the Yale special collection units live and die by using activities. I strongly recommend implementing a dropdown for Activity-specific notification emails from the Manage tab in the Activity Information window of the Aeon staff client.
