  1. Aeon Appointments: Add a way to handle schedule changes in advance

    Ex: We are going to have renovations this summer and we will shift the Wednesday hours from 11-6, with lunch recess from 1-2 to 10am-5pm with lunch from 12-1. I want to only change the calendar for the 3 months of summer. My concern is that if I change the official reading room schedule it will impact the availability in the fall and other people planning their future visits to the library outside of our altered summer schedule.

    The only current workaround for this is to update the open hours and then create exceptions for all dates that do not currently fit that schedule. This is onerous…

  3. In Staff Manager separate option to reset staff's view of Queues and Queue groupings from Grid settings

    If you make adjustments to the Staff Template specific to the Queue listing (Home tab), the only way to apply that is to use the Delete Grid options which will also clear out any column order or customization that staff have done to the Q view in their own client. If there were another way to do this it would be very helpful.

  4. Allow appointments to be set for certain days only while leaving other days open for scheduling via scheduled date

    Allow more nuance in appointment configuration to set some days as appointment-only and allow other days to still be open by scheduled date or not require an appointment.

  5. Appointment configuration for "overflow" spaces

    Add option for "overflow" spaces to be booked by appointment when primary reading room space(s) are full. These rooms would not be available for appointment booking on a regular basis, but would display if all spaces in the primary reading room are full.

  6. Create an email to send automatically to patrons to notify them their Aeon account is expiring.

    Create a new default email template to send automatically to patrons to notify them their Aeon account is going to expire.

    Add key to Customization Manager so sites can decide whether to use this email or not.

  7. Remove SecondaryAddressActive key from Customization Manager

    UseSecondaryAddress was added in Aeon 5.0 and controls whether the secondary address fields are displayed in the web interface.

    Need to investigate whether SecondaryAddressActive is used for anything before removing.

  8. Create keys for or add additional fields to CustomDropDown table to indicate on which form a field should be displayed

    Example: Fields like Status are often hard-coded on NewUserRegistration and NewAuthRegistration if the site wants some statuses that are internal-only or if the statuses should display differently for affiliate vs non-affiliate users.

    Including keys in the customization manager or some way to indicate which options should be included on which form would allow for more flexibility with those options and eliminate the need to hard-code the values on the web forms.

  9. Remove default web validation requirement for ID for Registration

    In Aeon 5.0, the ID field is required for Registration in the Web Validation table in the customization manager. The ID field is not present on the NewUserRegistration.html or NewAuthRegistration.html pages, though. When someone creates a user account, they get a validation error that ID is missing. The rule should be removed so as not to cause confusion for new Aeon sites. Also, many sites do not collect ID information on the registration web page.

  10. Copy and paste from cells in tables

    On the queue and flag tables, we used to be able to click a cell and copy just that information. We can't after the new version update. A fix for this would be incredibly beneficial.

  11. Allow users in the Staff Manager to delete grid settings for multiple staff at once

    Currently, grid settings have to be deleted individually for each user in the Staff Manager. If a change is made to the layout template and grid settings need to be cleared, it can be cumbersome and time-consuming to select each staff person individually and click Delete Grid Settings. The option to select multiple staff and clear grid settings for all users selected would be preferable.

  12. Option to store certain customization values securely

    There may be certain customization values in the Customization Manager that should be hidden by default, such as SMTP passwords, LDAP authentication settings, etc. Those values would not be readable through the interface but could be reset by staff with access to the Customization Manager.

  13. Better user interface for creating routing rules in Customization Manager

    Make the rule field like an email template where you can right click to choose a table and field to prevent typos etc.

  14. Have the Aeon web application send an email when an error occurs.

    It could be helpful if the Aeon web application reported errors by sending an email using a new template. This could inform admins of errors they may otherwise be unaware of in a timely manner.

  15. Make the routing rules option to reorder them more obvious

    Routing rules can be moved up and down in the list (they are performed in the order they appear in the list, where only the first rule that matches is applied).
