Prevent staff accounts from having leading or trailing spaces
We accidentally created a staff account that was 'NNN ', with 2 trailing spaces. It took a little bit of fiddling to figure out why the person couldn't log in. To me, it makes sense to validate against this on staff account creation and prevent it.

Set how long before end of day last appointment can be scheduled
BPL's reading room is open from 9:30am to 4:30pm and allows 30 minute appointments. However, to allow time for registration,we would like all appointments to begin before 4pm, so that a researcher cannot make an appointment for 4pm-4:30pm.
It would be helpful if there was another appointment key for end of day padding, i.e., how long before the end of day an appointment can begin, while still allowing appointments to end at our closing time

Search by user email via custom search field on top of dashboard
Create a new search field in the Custom User Search section on top of the dashboard that allows for search by user email (now it has search by Username, Name, or ID). While we can currently create a custom search to do this, it would be quicker if staff can just enter an email in a field on top of the dashboard.

Notification when closing Aeon if users are still signed into a reading room
Sometimes people forget to sign users out of the reading room at the end of the day, due to various factors. Would it be possible to have a pop-up notification that appears when the Aeon application is being closed, saying 'there are still users signed into the reading room'? This way, staff will be reminded to sign those users out before closing Aeon at the end of the day.

Merging users: ability to key in letters to find user records or search for names
If I am not mistaken, the Merge Users function appears to require me to scroll through two (very long, in our case) lists of accounts, and click "Merge" only after having highlighted the duplicate accounts -- one on the left side and one on the right.
It's time consuming to do this -- so maybe there could be a search bar at the top of both lists, where you can enter the first few letters of any given names.
And/or: you could have the ability to enter the first few letters of the name to bring you to that record.…

Preventing users from booking simultaneous appointments in two reading rooms
We need a setting which prevents a user from booking simultaneous or overlapping appointments in two reading rooms at the same time.

Allow the new calendar feature to sync with google or outlook calendar, so that archivists can share the reading room calendar more easily with fellow staff.

Prevent duplicate accounts
A way to prevent (or at least limit the number of) users creating duplicate accounts by not allowing a user to use the same email address to create a new account, but then have them prompted to "Change Password" if they try to create a new account using the same email address.

Different parameters for cleared and uncleared users
We would like the ability to establish different parameters for appointment-making/request-adding for cleared (established) and uncleared (new) users to facilitate paging from the Reading Room.

Allow partial anonymizing of user data and request history.
This would allow Aeon sites to anonymize part of a users data/request history to protect their privacy while also maintaining statistics long term. For example: an active users request history may extend beyond the 5 year data collection period maintained for audit. The user would retain their access to Aeon, but all requests prior to the 5 year collection period could be anonymized. Allowing the site to maintain their statistics and ensure user privacy.

Ability to import affiliate user records into a validation table
The University of Baltimore also uses ILLiad and Ares. They import their affiliate user records into a validation table. When a new affiliate user logs into the web interface, their info from the validation table populates the registration form. They would like this functionality in Aeon.

Rename Taiwan on registration form
We had a patron bring this issue to our attention. Right now, when a patron registers in Aeon, the country description for Taiwan is "Taiwan, Province of China." As the patron stated, "I’m aware that many in America are not aware of the political sensitivities around this issue, but at the moment we are still an independent country (which most of us in Taiwan prefer!), so to say we are a province of China is untrue and politically incorrect! Perhaps you can make a note of this to your web designer!"

Adjust user expiration process to automatically update the user's expiration date when they submit ChangeUserInformation or ExpiredUsers
This should not be dependent on the AutoUpdateExpiration key. Many sites want users to expire yearly in order to reagree to reading room policies but do not want the user's expiration date to update anytime the user submits ChangeUserInformation, as that would bypass set user expiration.

Uncleared users should expire in the same way as cleared users
Most users that just make photoduplication requests never get cleared and so they never expire and get prompted to update their contact information. It would be helpful for all users to expire regardless of whether they have ever been cleared.

Add a way to mark if this is a user's first time in the reading room
Once a user is cleared, it is hard for other staff to know if it's that person's first time into the reading room and needs an orientation, etc. It would be great if it could be visually displayed somewhere in the user record or on the sign in table so that it's more obvious to staff.

Make user merge process more clear
We would like to keep the option of not clearing users when merging accounts. Clicking on "merge" on a user should go to that user in the merge list.
We would like the whole process of merging to be smoother -- it should be possible to start from any status and merge, and it should be easier to find related individuals. Also, if you click "merge" on a certain user, it should start with that user in the list of users.
The current merge workflow is incredibly confusing.

If a user needs to be cleared, default to the Process ribbon on the user form
When opening a user to clear them, the form defaults to the default ribbon and you have to click the process ribbon. For users that need to be cleared, it should default to the Process ribbon.
