Allow sorting of tags in something other than alphabetical
Several sites have requested this option but their examples are always Week 10 coming before Week 2 in the list. Are there other examples for needing to customize the order or is it only for the weeks?

Allow instructors to submit multiple requests at once
How would sites like this to work? Would the instructor need to create an Excel file? Or would they paste a series of citations and staff would have to interpret them?

Would like to organize items in folders versus tags on the web
Sites who used to use Docutek miss the option of organizing items in folders. Tags don't seem to be as desirable.

Allow for sorting by Article Title instead of Journal Title in the web
Currently, Article Title is appended to the Journal Title field for displaying in the web, making it impossible to sort on instead of Journal Title.

Allow permalinks to course pages
Currently, you can make permalinks to individual items but not the actual course pages. It would be helpful if you could link to the course pages as well.

Allow changes to HTML for LoanPeriod on request forms.
The LoanPeriod field in request forms is automatically set to display Choose an Option. There is no way to indicate a default loan period selection in the dropdown list or change the "Choose an Option" verbiage. Hobart and William Smith Colleges would like to be able to designate a preferred loan period as the automatic selection in the dropdown, instead of Choose an Option.

Greater flexibility re: selection of document type in IRF/IRF edit forms
When an instructor selects the supply method in any IRF or IRFEdit forms, the document type for the item appears to be selected automatically based on the supply method chosen. For instance, Purchase selects the document type of Hard Copy; WebLink selects the document type of Web Page Link.
If we want Purchase to select for another document type, we cannot make this happen through the HTML code or through the Customization Manager (at least not that we could find). This is problematic when creating forms for new types of material, in which the supply methods given do not correctly…

Prompt instructors for Date Needed by when importing/cloning requests
The Date Needed By field provides important data for managing workflow and assessing quality of service provided by Reserves staff (i.e., what percentage of requests are filled by this date). We require this field when instructors submit new requests and would like to also require (or at least prompt for it) when importing requests from a prior course. Currently the Date Needed By from prior semesters clone, which isn't useful for managing workflow or for assessing service.

If a user is returned to the main menu because of an error, there is no way to explain why.

Allow Ares to receive additional attributes, such as first name, last name, email, and department, from Shibboleth.
Allow for Ares to recognize additional user attributes in remote auth headers. User status (student, faculty) would also be helpful. The info would be used to populate the user record in Ares.

Group items by title for hard copies to shorten list for web users
On the course info page, if a title has multiple physical copies available on physical reserves, that list of the title is cumbersome. If they could automatically group by the title, and expand to show each ItemID, that would make the list easier to navigate.
Reordering of items that is possible by instructors would have to take this into account.

Allow editing displayed Instructor for a course via webpages icourseedit.html
We need a way to allow instructors/proxies to edit the displayed instructor name themselves. Right now it can only be done via the client in the Instructor Name Override field.

Add a status bar for instructor uploads
When instructors upload PDFs for their classes, there is no indication on the web page that their material is being uploaded. The screen just stays as it is until the upload is complete. Instructors with a slow internet connection must wait several minutes with no certainty that the system is responding to their input.

Instructors viewing their own Course Items
Upon login, instructional faculty could be able to see what materials they have used in previous courses and have the ability to pick and choose which materials they wish to use for which course, and possibly search and clone from other instructors

Allow custom web tables to highlight specific request statuses
UMBC has a custom queue called "Awaiting Instructor Response" and would find it helpful for the items included in the default tables to to be customizable OR to be able to create new tables and define which fields and statuses are displayed. Being able to group this status into the Awaiting Supply By table or giving it a separate table that could be displayed on ihome.html would help remind the instructors that they had outstanding communication.

Allow Full Proxy users to import courses from CourseValidation in the web
If the Instructor is unavailable to import upcoming courses from Course Validation, it would be best if their Full Proxy users were able to see those courses that are in CourseValidation for the instructors they're associated with. Right now these courses do not show at all to the full proxies unless the have already been imported either by the instructor or by staff via the client.

It would be great if end users could sort in the “Import Items” view in the web application.
