We have explored using Brittany de Gail's ILLiad Request Form Popup Client Addon to review the Special Instructions field, where we add info about returns requiring a box, additional insurance, tracking, etc. It works great; however, we haven't yet added it to each machine, so it's currently an inconsistent workflow. I would love if it could be a feature included in the Customization Manager.

Would like a pop-up for a special field to read when processing borrowing returns--to note conditions for the return like box, bubble wrap, to include IFLA vouchers, etc. Currently we go back into the request after printing and put 1,000 in the pieces field to make a pop-up that will catch our students' attention when processing returns.

Hi Andrew, I was looking at addons today and saw the "flag popper." Looks like it should help with a lot of what I was interested in. I've added it, but all I can get is the default message. I can't figure out how to get the message I put into the settings to show up. Any suggestions? Is there a better way I could contact you about this? Thanks so much for taking the time to make this!

Yes! The flags would be much more helpful if they worked more like a fulfillment note that would catch your attention when you did something with the request.

What would want could definitely be done with an addon--functions can be triggered whenever you mark something found, check something in, etc. However, it sounds like your criteria would be more complex than just popping up a message for a given flag. A custom addon could definitely be made to handle various workflows, but it would not be as customizeable by the end user without editing the addon code itself.

What could be easily done is an addon that pops up a user-specified custom message corresponding to user-specified custom flags at user-specified points in the workflow (checking in, marking found, etc.). It could also remove those flags at the same time if desired.

Yes, Andrew, in this example I would just want something like "this request is flagged for review on return." But I would want to be able to have other pop-ups as well. For example, we charge an invoice fee for items not paid IFM, and this is often overlooked during processing. So I would want another pop-up that would appear when updating to "mark found" that would alert our students "This request needs an invoice fee added" for items where max cost did not contain IFM and billing category was not exempt. Really, I want the flexibility to create some sort of custom alerts/pop-ups for various workflows. Is that more broad idea something that could be accomplished with an addon?

This should be pretty easily doable with an addon. Do you mean something like a pop-up telling you "This item is flagged with [flag]" or something like that?
