Would like a way to have automated emails go out to a researcher at certain points
This could be handled via addons currently but would it make sense to build it into the native system?

This would be really great to have. No matter how carefully we check, there's always one that sits for an extra day or two.

We could really use this when materials are on hold and ready for the patron to make an appointment.

I agree with Derek on this - we are experiencing a not insignificant # of users forgetting appointments, or just having general confusion with the appointments functionality - so any reminders would be extremely helpful.

This would be a huge quality of life improvement. Patrons as we know, do not look at their account for updates, and rely heavily on the assumption of emails to update them on changes to their account/status etc. similar to nearly every other library system software.

This would be very helpful also for the staff, in order to avoid waste of time by manually sending emails to patrons.

This would be particularly helpful to be able to send an automated email when a request is placed letting users know the specifics of how their request will be confirmed, given the changes to processes because of covid-19. Being able to copy an address on that auto email would serve as a notification that a request has been made for staff that are working remotely and have no way to access the client.

Like Michael Lange said, we would like to be able to send automatic emails alerting our patrons about changes to our process due to covid-19.

It would be helpful to acknowledge receipt of duplication orders.

This would be extremely helpful right now while we have an unforeseen closure due to coronavirus. We are able to fulfill some duplication requests remotely (if a file already exists) so we do not want to shut down the form completely, but we would like an automated message to go out letting people know that we are closed and to expect a delay. We have messages up on the home page and on the forms, but for some reason no one reads those.

Being able to respond to requests with a pre-set automatic email notification would be a good enhancement.

I could see this being very useful for reminding people that their hold items are about to expire.
