Ah good catch. I'm not sure how we ended up with two of these so similar but I'm going to merge this info into the other one (that already has votes from Harvard etc.).

The following scenario has been occurring with some frequency: • A patron wishing to order several items fills out the Aeon request form multiple times – one for each book/object/photo, etc. • The multiple forms are turned into multiple orders, and the patron receives multiple invoices. • The cost of delivery must be either distributed evenly among the multiple orders, or (and this is how we’ve been handling it) added to only one transaction - which can be a problem if the patron ends up only paying for select orders. • When the patron does pay, each order must be searched and the billing tab opened to view the total, then all the totals must be totaled manually. • Once paid, multiple Job Tickets must be printed out, and each goes through the lab as a separate order. This can lead to some orders being completed before others, can complicate delivery, and could lead to confusion for the patron. Is there anything already present in Aeon that could help to ameliorate this situation? Is there a way that a list view could show the invoice totals for several transactions at once, for example? And is there a way to get the total for only selected invoices out of a set? One thing that we think might help us is a larger “container” into which multiple transactions could be gathered. A side benefit of such a development might be that the shipping charge and rush charge, if any, could be added as a separate line, independent of all transactions. We have tried Bundling the transactions, but the options for “bundled” transactions appear to be limited.

My memory is that something changed in Aeon 3.9 that prevented the copy and pasting and that's why this entry is in User Voice is to bring it back. Your +1 about using the feature a lot in 3.8 and missing it is helpful. I'll talk with the development team about how/why this changed and what's involved in getting it back.

    Thanks!

We discussed this internally this week. How does this sound?

An instructor can decide if they would like to share their course publicly with other instructors. When another instructor is in the web and adding items, in addition to the option to create an item, import from a previous course, there would be the option to search public courses. That search would let them search any course that was public but would allow them to filter down to only those in their department or similar departments.

That way instructors can save re-keying and get ideas from other peers, but the instructor providing the course material still has the option of keeping their course "private" if they want to.

Do you think instructors would want to decide on an item by item basis if they want to share it? Would they mess with those settings?

This makes sense. We've talked about better tracking for hard copy items in general so this fits in with that.

This is a good point. We'll research how the pages are working and see what we can do.

    Bill,

The items from your site that are at Item Delivered and are moved after 30 days ... when would those be considered finished? Like are they not finished until a staff person says so or are you wanting a time frame greater than 30 days? I'm trying to figure out if the overall process works and it's just each site wants a unique time frame or if you're skipping the process for other reasons too.

So it sounds like instead of preventing them from making items available outside the semester, we need to let them pick those dates and display them for those dates regardless of the semester they're in.

So if the graduate and online courses don't match the semester dates, should the item be available in those dates outside the semester? Or despite the course being in those outside dates, should all items be restricted to the dates of the semester?

We've had others express interest in this and it came up as we first developed the flags concept. It may need to be a separate table/customization interface, but is a good idea.
