An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Marie Lyons commentedAnother suggestion is to remove the 'course home' link entirely from 'items to import' table on IRFMenu.html. The only option should be the 'import items' link.
Anne Marie Lyons supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Marie Lyons commentedThe same is true with futures courses. One of the Ares libraries occasionally runs into a situation where a course for a future semester gets unexpectedly imported into Ares, but the Item Addition Date is not current yet. The same data feed is going into the CMS, so the instructor can click through and access the course in Ares. It allows the instructor to get so far as filling out the entire item form, but when the instructor clicks on the Submit button, Ares tells the instructor to "Please select a course." This is a status message that is coming from the DLL, so it cannot be customized to give the instructor additional info, such as a message to contact reserves.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Marie Lyons commentedWhen items are cloned to a course on the client side, all electronic items go to 'Item Available on Electronic Reserves' and all physical items go to 'Awaiting Reserves Processing.' These queues do not always reflect the processing needs of cloned items, so it would be helpful to be able to route items in bulk from the course record. Right now, there is no Route button in the course record, so a custom search has to be built in order to use the Route button in the Search view.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Marie Lyons commentedWe have another library asking that instructors be able to choose when to clone instructor tags. This option is available on the clone course page, but most libraries do not clone courses, only items.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Marie Lyons commentedOne library commented that this would make things much easier for the instructors so that they do not have to fill in individual request forms.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Marie Lyons commentedCirculation staff need to be able to search by instructor's name and course name, besides just item information.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Marie Lyons commentedThis is particularly true for the usage statistics report. Usage stats are only available per month. Staff would like to be able to report on per semester, as well.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anne Marie Lyons commentedWould like to be able to send emails from course records to instructors that include the language: “Your course reserve requests for [Course] have been completed, items will be available on [Date/Time]…”

I've already voted on this on behalf of a library, so I'm adding a comment here for another request for this functionality from a newly implementing library. Faculty are accustomed to being able to share items with each other in their current system. Having to mediate this frequent request for sharing in the Ares client will be a labor-intensive hardship for staff.
