I get some lending requests for articles that are open access and they always make me pause. Does the borrower not realize that this is available open access? Or do they have a need for the published PDF? If I guess wrong I slow down their fulfillment. There could be a number of situations where they will accept open access but haven't found it. But also I do not want to charge them for the published PDF if they would have been happy with the open version. Streamlining open access discovery in borrowing would be very useful!

Yes. Lenders have no need to know the patron name and would probably be just as happy to not have to take steps to protect someone else's patrons privacy.
