An error occurred while saving the comment Lauren commentedThis is a crucial update; we've had a number of students complain that the wrong name appears in Ares despite having gone through all the steps to update their name with the University.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lauren commentedWe've recently switched to laptops and discovered this issue. We're trying a few solutions suggested by support, but getting this fixed is definitely important.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lauren commentedThis would be enormously helpful. We only have to manually add students to a few classes per year, but it's always at the start of the Fall semester, when we are at our absolute busiest. The time we would save by bulk adding would make a meaningful difference to staff.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lauren commentedI agree that it would be particularly useful to be able to email all instructors for a specific semester, to send reminders and updates. A format limiting option would also be helpful - when our campus closed due to COVID-19, we manually identified every instructor with a hard copy on reserve so we could reach out and arrange alternative access. A mass email option would have been much quicker, and I can imagine other emergency scenarios (e.g. a sudden closure due to fire, water damage, etc.) where such time savings would be invaluable. I can also see the value in being able to email students - generally, with reminders on how to use course reserves, as well as specifically, if there is a known issue with a reserve item. We had an issue last year with one database article that wouldn't properly trigger the proxy when accessed by students through Ares, and being able to email the whole class to describe workaround access while we resolved the issue would have been incredible.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lauren commentedWe would love this feature. Our most time consuming problem is instructors who request a cross-listed course in D2L and uploaded items to one (or both) of the original courses, either before or after the cross-listed course is created. It's extremely difficult for us to identify and correct these situations.

An error occurred while saving the comment Lauren commentedWe currently run OCR using Adobe, but it would be a tremendous time saver if Ares could do it automatically!

An error occurred while saving the comment Lauren commentedWe would love this! It would work best if ti could be staff initiated, with a degree of control over the time frame - for example, we have a rule of thumb to keep reserves materials for two years. If we could run a batch deletion for all courses that ended before a certain date, that would make it easy to do routine removals.
An additional feature that would be incredibly beneficial would be the ability to mass email instructors who will be affected. We could provide a few weeks warning to everyone whose old courses are about to be deleted, and give them an opportunity to clone over or save old items that they don't want to lose.

This would be fantastic - we use OCLC's WMS/Discovery and an import option would save us an enormous amount of time every semester (especially if you could also import the record permalink)!
