    It would be nice to see a User History tab on their User window. For example, what link did they come from to create an account, what time stamp they entered Users to Clear, transfer history, etc.

  2. In-library use option for checking-out and checking-in items in Web Circ

    Could you provide a Web Circ option for checking-out and checking-in in-library use items multiple times for a patron? Currently, we don't have an electronic means of tracking when an in-library use item has been removed from our ILL pick up shelf or is being consulted by our patrons.

  3. Add Preferred Name Fields in the ILLiad Patron Record

    Currently ILLiad has Last Name and First Name fields in the patron record, but other databases on our campus, including our ILS, have the additional fields of Preferred First Name, Preferred Middle Name, and Preferred Last Name. It would be great if ILLiad would add these fields.

  4. Auto update for Custom Groups

    Auto update of Custom Group when using exact name of the OCLC Group Access Capability (GAC), such as ACOV. Manually adding individual codes for all of us seems redundant.

  5. Include ability to batch update records

    I realize that this could be very dangerous and should be locked down behind something like the database manager, but having the ability to batch update records (transaction, user, lender, etc) in ILLiad would be a huge time saver. There are times when local data or workflows change, and the ability to change more than one record at once would open up a lot of possibilities.

  6. Do not move completed requests to Cancelled by ILL Staff when disavowing users

    When a user is disavowed, it makes sense to cancel all outstanding requests so that they are not processed. It does not make sense to move completed requests (in queues Request Finished or Delivered to Web) to Cancelled by ILL Staff. This skews statistics.

  7. A key to determine if request auto opens (or doesn't) when it's the only item in a queue.

    I would like to be able to control if a request will automatically open when searched or when a queue of one is displayed.

    Primarily, I want to be able to STOP the request from opening automatically. Many times we search for an item to see info, or route to an active status, and auto opening just slows down our ability to do this as we wait for the request to render.

  8. Deliver accessible PDFs via Odyssey--i.e. run PDFs through software to OCR before delivery

    Our campus wants us to deliver accessible PDFs for faculty who post files online for classes. Many libraries scan as images and deliver via Odyssey as part of the scanning process. They don't have opportunity to OCR files before delivery.

  9. Allow Request Notes to be Edited

    I often need to delete notes I have just added to a request because I realize that there is a typo or I want to add to the note. It would be very helpful to be able to just edit the existing note rather than having to delete it and add a new note.

  10. Allow WebAlerts to be set based on User LoanDeliveryMethod

    WebAlerts can currently be set by a number of useful keys, like DeliveryLocation (which NVTGC code a user has set as pickup location).

    Like many libraries, we are greatly increasing mail to home options due to COVID-19, and the majority of our classes being remote in the fall, and are using Users.LoanDeliveryMethod.

    I'd love to be able to give special messages to patrons depending on whether they have marked LoanDeliveryMethod MailToAddress or HoldForPickup. For those being mailed, I want to remind them to update their address; for those picking up, there may be changes iin hold shelf protocol.

  12. Extend database field length for ISSN

    Extend the max field length for the ISSN/ISBN field beyond 20 Characters. Users sometimes copy/paste an ISBN with a prefix (e.g. ISBN: 1234567891234). If they do that with a 13-digit ISBN, the last digits are cut off.

  13. Save some user demographic info with the request for reporting/statistics.

    Store demographics (ie, non personally identifying information, such as major or department) associated with a user request, to the request, not just the user.

    This would allow us to know better understand ‘how many requests were submitted by BIOLOGY majors’ in a given period of time vs. having those BIOLOGY requests migrate to a new major when USERS change major or vice versa.

  14. Update the Default Browser

    Several of our library's databases don't play nice with IE anymore, so when searching for an article while in ILLiad, we have to cut and paste the link into another browser before we can continue the search. This would (hopefully) be eliminated if IE were not the default browser.

  15. Add additional Result Mapping options for Z39.50

    It would be nice if there were one or two more fields where data grabbed via Z39.50 could be imported into ILLiad. In particular, "Item Num" would be an ideal place to hold a barcode, rather than having to concatenate it to a different value (as described here: https://support.atlas-sys.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360006750353-Finding-Importing-the-Barcode-Field).

  16. Bulk data updates

    I'd like to see an addition to the database manager where we can run a search against the transactions, users or lending library tables and from those results, batch update fields in that table for those results. An example would be if we have a campus that changes names (which we've had a couple times) We could run a query on all users with that pickup site and batch update them to the new name. I see this as an addition to the database manager since that is able to be restricted to a VERY limited number of staff.

  17. Improvement to Borrowing Turnaround Times Report

    Currently, the report is generated with Articles, Loans, Overall, and Overall w/ Manually Processed tabs. The Articles, Loans, and Overall tabs are generated with the data of transactions that are automatically processed. What we need is a way to generate this same report with all of the articles regardless of automatic or manual processing (same with loans). With this data being lumped into the Overall w/ Manually Processed tab it is unhelpful when trying to discover total articles or loan turnaround times (not both together).

  19. Extend database field length for ReasonsForCancellation DefaultNote

    Many of our cancellation notices to patrons need to include more information in the DefaultNote field than can fit in 255 characters. Some examples: If a patron requests a book held by one of our branch libraries, we will tell them that we placed the request on their behalf, and also include instructions for how they can do so themselves in the future. Or if we purchase a book for our collection on behalf of a patron, we explain that we purchased the book, tell them how they'll be notified when it's processed, and give a general timeline.

  20. Option to disable borrowing overdue notices on closed days

    It would be helpful if libraries could choose to suppress sending borrowing overdue notices to patrons on days when the library and/or ILL office is closed. We do not check for ILL returns on Saturdays or Sundays, and on Monday morning we backdate everything returned over the weekend to Friday. However, patrons are regularly annoyed/alarmed to receive an overdue notice on Saturday or Sunday when they've already returned the item. We do indicate that this is nothing to worry about in our email template, but not everyone reads the entire email, unfortunately.
