Ability to submit copyright orders in bulk for multiple sections If each section has the same article, it would be good to submit it as a bulk request for all the sections at once versus each one individually.

Allow Ares to receive additional attributes, such as first name, last name, email, and department, from Shibboleth. Allow for Ares to recognize additional user attributes in remote auth headers. User status (student, faculty) would also be helpful. The info would be used to populate the user record in Ares.

Group items by title for hard copies to shorten list for web users On the course info page, if a title has multiple physical copies available on physical reserves, that list of the title is cumbersome. If they could automatically group by the title, and expand to show each ItemID, that would make the list easier to navigate.
Reordering of items that is possible by instructors would have to take this into account.

Report showing which staff have processed which items Check the tracking to see which staff usernames touched it. Do they need to know how long that staff person took?

Increase the length of the ItemBarcode field NYU would like to be able to encompass the barcodes for multiple volumes within the ItemBarcode field and the current character limit is preventing this. Increasing this limit would be greatly beneficial.

Make Visually Similar Characters Interchangeable in Searches It would be helpful if confusable characters, lookalikes, homoglyphs, and diacritics were treated as interchangeable when conducting searches. Currently, it seems that searches require the exact Unicode characters used in the item being searched for. This can be problematic because text copied from an original source may include a variant of a character that users might not recognize or know how to input when later searching for the same item. As a result, they may not be able to find the item they are looking for. For example, a user searching for "Cost-Effectiveness Thresholds" with a keyboard hyphen will not…

Update ARES Api to get Reserve Item to include Instructor tags Ares Reserves API for get a specific course id list of reserve items there is not a field for "Instructor Tags"
However the Ares Soap client to get classes and reserve items does allow for retrieval of filed for "Instructor Tags".
I understand the Ares Soap client is older technology and is expected to be deprecated.
Can the Ares Api for a specific course get reserve items be updated to return the "Instructor Tags"?2 votes -
New addon suggestion We thought maybe an addon to search the library catalog (we use OMNI as OPAC and ALMA as our library management system at Brock) from within the Ares Client, and then an import button that would bring in the citation information and the call number and shelf location to the item record would be great! Ares doesn't have such functionality right now, but Ares has similar addons for some of its other products, so maybe this could be a good idea for Ares.

Browser bookmarklet for adding web content to reserve lists. I have seen this functionality being used with other resource list creation software. Could something similar be developed to work with Ares?

Add file size to the grid It would be nice to have "file size" added to grids. Sometimes professors or staff provide PDFs that are extremely large. It would be nice to sort for these to be able to replace them with reduced size PDFs. This is helpful for students (to not have to download such huge files) and for database management. Thank you!

Include submission date in Items table It would be nice to include the submission date as a field in the Items table. Currently, this is only a field in the History table and cannot be displayed in the results table when you run a search

Have a mechanism for handling LMS course merges, particularly when combined with course and user loads This issue seems to affect every site that uses an LMS, but it becomes particularly problematic when users are also allowed direct access to the Ares web and when course and user loads are being used. This example was written out for Kent State to explain the problem they're facing when courses are merged in Canvas.
Scenario:
John is an instructor and is teaching Course 101. This course has two sections, A and B. Jack and Jill are students. Jack is enrolled in section A. Jill is enrolled in section B. This information is provided to Canvas through a data…

Save Customized Grids I would like this Aeon feature added to the Ares.
I am try to Save the grid customization I have created:"Staff users with layout customization permissions can also save grid customizations as .xml files that can be shared with other users and uploaded onto their client forms."
I want to be able to upload the file to use as my grid in every instance I needed. I want the same grid in each queue and for all my search results. We have 10 queues (or more as we add) and I have to “customize” them from scratch.

EDU for Ares We would like to have a separate tool for upload of documents into the Ares similar to the EDU for ILLiad.
This would help us reduce the applications our scanning staff need to know (and we don't want to give them access to entries that they might inadvertently change).
Ideally, this tool would allow us to send to a queue of our choice instead of being hardwired to go straight to 'Item Available for Reserves'. This would allow us to proof the documents before they are delivered for courses.
The BatchItemUpload feature still uses the Ares client. I’d like a…
