  3. Default OpenURL journal genre to article form instead of loan form

Most examples of OpenURL with the "journal" genre are still article requests versus a request for a loan of the entire journal. Data would not be lost if we use the article request form instead.

  4. Article Delivery notices: automated reminder notices

It would improve service to be able to send automated reminder notices to patrons a week or so before electronic articles reach the 30-day limit and will be purged from the server. We remind them to download articles, but a second notice would be helpful, either to all patrons or maybe to those whose request history does not show "PDF viewed."

Expand the group maintenance functionality to include settings that persist for specific groups such as if renewals are permitted and the length of renewals for specific groups. One group we are a part of has expanded renewals to 17 weeks - we want this for that group but not for everyone so it would be nice to be able to customize more than just initial loan length based upon the borrowing library's group.

  6. Make Billing Categories Default by SystemID

When new lender addresses are created it should be possible to set SystemID specific default billing categories. For example, all Rapid lender addresses should come in as Exempt by default. ISO is another example where a specific

  7. Make OCLC Local Holdings visible from ILLiad

When ordering items via OCLC from the Awaiting Request Processing queue, there are many times (especially with Internet Resource format type) where a list of symbols is showing, but no coverage information at all. It appears you can log into WorldShare's online interface directly and expose the holdings information there. Please make this info. visible in ILLiad so we don't have to leave the program or make faulty lender symbol strings. This is really not efficient and leads to wasted time.

  8. Fix Turnaround reports to include API-created Transactions

Turnaround reports currently do not include any transactions created via the API. This is because the SQL queries that drive the Turnaround reports search the history table for specific status messages, and API-created transactions don't have those messages. Either the SQL queries need to be updated to include the API status messgae, or the API needs to use the same status message as the regular webpages in order for these transactions to appear in Turnaround reports. Right now, Turnaround reports for institutions that use the API to create transactions are totally inaccurate.

  9. Fill in Lending DueDate field when TN is in other transactionstatus other than Awaiting Lending Request Processing

If lending loan requests come in via Rapid and are routed to Awaiting Stacks Searching via a Routing Rule (because they already have the location and callnumber), the lending request never gets the DueDate assigned automatically because that only happens the first time a TN is opened from the Awaiting Lending Request Processing status. Could ILLiad somehow set that DueDate even though the Awaiting Lending Request Processing status is skipped?

  10. Add a user confirmation check to the WebCirc checkout process

It's easy for a high-volume institution with many student workers at many desks to mistakenly check a book out to a user that is not for the user in front of them. Because the TN# is attached to the user, ILLiad then indicates that the item is checked out to the requesting user when the book may have been given to the wrong user. A simple pop-up during the checkout process confirming the username/ID# of the user the item is being checked out to would help prevent this. (and the ability to undo if necessary)

  11. Improve WebCirc functionality

Allow for WebCirc users (staff) to undo something they did by mistake, for instance, marking an item in transit back to ILL instead of checking it out. And/or add a "are you sure" message when moving a request to in transit that is not already at "checked out to customer"

  12. Allow for more targeted web alerts

Allow for multiple critera for displaying web alerts. We have 23 campuses and I'd like to be able to specify I want (for example) Faculty at One Campus (organization field) to receive an alert but not the Faculty at the other 22 campuses. (and other similar circumstances)

  13. Create a way for ILLiad to export citations associated with their requests directly to RefWorks or another reference manager.

Often users acquire articles first through ILLiad and then decide if they want to use them for their research. The DOI resolver and DOI DSP addon features provide complete citations for our users. It would be helpful if a user could simply export the citation associated with a request directly to a reference manager for their bibliography.

  15. Identify ghost/fake ChatGPT citations

Check citations somehow before lenders end up spending time trying to verify ghost ChatGPT requests maybe via Addon or other processing method.

  16. Improve Error handling in Electronic Delivery Utility (EDU) to keep cascading errors from occurring.

When the EDU loses connection to a network location where files are stored due to a timeout or issue, the EDU continues to try and process causing a loop of error messages that cause the EDU to crash. See ticket# 38285 on 3/14 screenshots for error. Please enhance to report the loss of the connection and stop the EDU from continuing. Matt did not think we could re-establish the connection so I don't know if restarting the EDU is an option but Matt added

"we could maybe better handle the errors when it can't make open files and stop trying…

  17. ReShare Addon create a more robust breadcrumb trail

When the ILLiad ReShare addon creates a request in ReShare, there isn't much in the way of tracking after the request is submitted. We suggest adding notes to the ILLiad TN anytime the addon takes action on the request so there is a static history of what actions the addon has taken. That way if the request enters a different fulfillment method, such as OCLC, then there is preservation of the past ReShare request number and any other actions that the addon has taken. Otherwise, this information is lost (the ReShare Request ID is overwritten in the ILL number field).

  18. Prevent borrowing renewal requests when the lending library will not accept them

As a lender, FSU does not accept renewals and this is indicated in our notes, in the Client when we mark a request as Shipped and in the Policies Directory. In WSILL, the Renew option disappears when a borrower has exhausted renewal requests. There is no equivalent in ILLiad and borrowers can continue to send renewal requests regardless of settings and indicated preferences. Borrowers should not be able to request renewals when lenders have indicated they will not be accepted. (via KAK)

  19. I would liek ot be able to truncate text in field for printing. Sometimes the title is long and pushes my book strap on to a second page.

I want to truncate the length of the title in some of my print templates so labels print consistently. I would also like to be able to change the color of the font based on the data in a merge field to call attention to a users NVTGC for example.

  20. Better tracking of OA/DSP/non-standard article delivery in Borrowing Web Reports

Turnaround time Borrowing Web Reports don't have the ability to capture requests filled through OA Addon/DSP. It's important for not just these to be able to be captured and included in statistics, but also for us to separate these and be able to identify these as opposed to other material that's uploaded and delivered.
