Create addon to add an expiration date to a queue and automatically route requests once the date parameter has passed
In the staff client, requests in the Item on Hold queue have no expiration, but most sites allow holds for 1-2 weeks. Create an addon that allows site to determine queue and number of days for requests to stay in that queue. When the number of days has elapsed, automatically route the request to another queue. EX: if a request is in Item on Hold and is allowed to be on hold for 2 weeks, set expiration for 14 days. When 14 days has passed, automatically route the request to Remove from Hold so staff can reshelve.

Alternate User Status for Accounts that have been Merged
Create a way to separate users that have been disavowed through the merging process v. those that are disavowed for other reasons.

Increase field lengths in LocalInfo table
In the LocalInfo table, SystemName, InstitutionName, and LibraryName are limited to 50 characters. Institutions with multiple sites often wish to combine library names into 1 field or create a system name that is slightly longer. Increasing the character limit to 100 for these fields would provide added flexibility.

Specify a hold location in its own field for each item
Sites could benefit from a "hold location" field in the Transactions table for each item. When the item is placed on the hold shelf, staff can designate that location (similar to choosing a table when signing a person into the reading room). That value would then display in the grid for all items on hold and would automatically clear when the item was checked back in without staff having to remember to clear it.

Would this be an acceptable solution?

Ability to edit default batch process options
We'd love to be able to edit the starting status and end status of the default batch process options (Check Out, Place on Hold, Reshelve Item, Item Reshelved, Item Delivered.) The default batch process rules don't recognize any custom queues, so whenever we process requests with a custom status it triggers a pop-up warning that the status is non-standard. Having to click through the pop-up each time really slows down our workflows.

Permit scheduling of recurring Web Alerts
We want to schedule our "Reminder: no paging on Saturdays" web alert to display on Fridays and Saturdays only. Currently, we have to move the Active Date and Expiration Date by hand each week.

Support for the Square payment gateway
The Boston Athenaeum uses Square for our other payments and we would love to be able to use it with Aeon as well, rather than using another payment gateway. https://squareup.com/developers

Pull in/map additional data from remote auth login to Aeon user registration.
Allow better mapping of additional information from LDAP and Shibboleth for remote auth registration.
Example: if value passing as username is email address, also allow this value to populate the Email Address field on the registration form.

Database fields - bigger, better, more flexible
There have been multiple situations that our life would have been made much easier if we had more flexibility in the Aeon database fields. For example, it is often suggested to use "another unused field" to store data. We often run into the issue that these fields are character limited.
The max length of any text field seems to 255 characters, which can be totally impractical for some purposes. I am assuming that this might be because of the MS Word mail merge character limit?
Is there any reason why text fields could not not be expanded to something like…

Add a way to mark if this is a user's first time in the reading room
Once a user is cleared, it is hard for other staff to know if it's that person's first time into the reading room and needs an orientation, etc. It would be great if it could be visually displayed somewhere in the user record or on the sign in table so that it's more obvious to staff.

Print an invoice from any screen
We would like to be able to print an invoice from any screen (like you can for a callslip) instead of having to open each request, open the billing tab, and them print the invoice.

When in Duplication Order Grids, add Print Call Slip to the standard ribbon
It is common for us to pull an item from the stacks because a remote user has requested a duplication order, and we manage these workflows through the Order queues/grids, however, we have to open individual requests to print call slips, or leave this grid view and look for those requests in a Request queue/grid. It would be GREAT if printing the call slip was something that could be done for both individual requests, and multiple requests in this grid view.

Have "Clone and Finish" button not only for items in "Item checked out" status, but also other statuses.
Right now, this can only be done when the item is in "Item Checked out" but, this leads to many requests that languish in "Awaiting Item Reshelving" because people forget to finish. This would solve that! Thanks.

Allow users to upload their own files to their own transactions
Some sites allow users to take their own photos while in the reading room. They may find it useful to upload those photos to the transaction / their own account, so they can keep track of which photos were for which items.

Notification for duplicate requests submitted
If a researcher requests something that is already on hold or in retrieval from a remote location, Aeon should alert staff to prevent duplicate paging or looking for things that are right behind them.

Edit notes
We would appreciate being able to edit the notes once they're in a user record.

Opening a request should not affect transaction "Changed Date" if nothing changes with request
When a staff member opens a transaction record to view, it should not be logged in the history as an update unless something has been edited within the request. Having the transaction date adjusted for every time a request is opened and looked at is misleading and messes up the ability to track request changes properly.

Update javascript functionality in scheduled-date.js - vary based on site or location
Scheduled-date.js currently only offers one version of the scheduled date calendar for all forms. In many cases, the calendar needs to change based on form, site, or location.
Site example: several libraries use one instance of Aeon. One reading room is open on Saturday, but the others are not. Should have the option for one site to include Saturday and the other(s) to block requesting on Saturdays.
Location example: If materials are offsite, they may take longer to retrieve. The scheduled date calendar should be configurable to block days if material if offsite, or allow same day requesting if it…

Import location information from a file without staff mediation
Many sites have location information stored in a variety of non-public formats (Excel, Access, etc.). They would like to have the location information imported into the Aeon request automatically if the title or some other unique value matches.
We have several sites who have asked about this but we need some additional info from you all. Who manages that file and do they typically have access to Aeon? How often is the file updated? Is it used for other purposes than special collections staff to know where things are? Could it (or a copy of it) live within the Aeon…
