Create addon to add an expiration date to a queue and automatically route requests once the date parameter has passed
In the staff client, requests in the Item on Hold queue have no expiration, but most sites allow holds for 1-2 weeks. Create an addon that allows site to determine queue and number of days for requests to stay in that queue. When the number of days has elapsed, automatically route the request to another queue. EX: if a request is in Item on Hold and is allowed to be on hold for 2 weeks, set expiration for 14 days. When 14 days has passed, automatically route the request to Remove from Hold so staff can reshelve.

Notification for duplicate requests submitted
If a researcher requests something that is already on hold or in retrieval from a remote location, Aeon should alert staff to prevent duplicate paging or looking for things that are right behind them.

Add option to print individual callslip from Activity request grid
When you open an activity, and then open the request grid, I really want to be able to select multiple requests from this grid, and print those call slips.
And, I don't always necessarily want to print all call slips in an activity. Some might be offsite, others in the vault, others I just need to look at first in making decisions about a class...I don't always want to print them all.

Single invoice containing multiple transactions
Create one invoice for orders/one invoice for multiple copy requests from single user

Allow staff to send one email for multiple requests (batch email)
Would it be possible to highlight a set of requests from one user, and send a single email to the user?
It would be great to highlight all the requests from each single user at once and then send one collective email to the user.

Option to reassign seat to user without signing out and back in
Seat Assignments: It is currently not possible to reassign users’ seats in the reading room without first checking them out of the room and then checking them back in. Patrons regularly change seats to view different size and formats of materials. Having a real-time view of seating, as well as a seat history, is vital from a security perspective. The need to check patrons out and then in again also potentially compromises security, as well as creating an inaccurate record of events, which be important in any (hopefully unlikely) security events.

Web user would like to print an invoice from the web
Used for reimbursement. Current option of just printing the table of requests does not look very official or sufficient.

Create functionality to allow patrons to schedule appointments.
Create functionality to allow patrons to schedule appointments. This would also involve a tracking table where if a patron needs to reschedule the scheduled date, the change would be tracked (for reporting purposes). This might also involved the option to cancel an appointment (without necessarily cancelling requests) or to record when a patron is a walk-in.

Would like a way to have automated emails go out to a researcher at certain points
This could be handled via addons currently but would it make sense to build it into the native system?

Distinguish between the Route button that displays the transaction status options and the Route button that displays photoduplication status
The two route buttons are identical and it makes them confusing.

Allow staff to edit multiple requests at once to change one field
Certain fields would be restricted and not allow bulk editing.

Way to notify staff via email when a request enters a certain queue
Some staff rarely use the staff client and it would be good to get an alert to check out a request.

Show who attended an activity/event without adding them as users for that activity
Students may have come to view the items, but you don't want to add them as users for that activity because they shouldn't be able to create requests associated with it. But staff (and instructors) like to know who was in the room.

Allow patron to cancel photoduplication order if they do not want to approve the invoice
When an invoice is generated in Aeon, it's made visible for the patron to approve in the web. But there is no option for patrons to cancel that request if they do not wish to approve the invoice.

Import location information from a file without staff mediation
Many sites have location information stored in a variety of non-public formats (Excel, Access, etc.). They would like to have the location information imported into the Aeon request automatically if the title or some other unique value matches.
We have several sites who have asked about this but we need some additional info from you all. Who manages that file and do they typically have access to Aeon? How often is the file updated? Is it used for other purposes than special collections staff to know where things are? Could it (or a copy of it) live within the Aeon…

Edit notes
We would appreciate being able to edit the notes once they're in a user record.

Database fields - bigger, better, more flexible
There have been multiple situations that our life would have been made much easier if we had more flexibility in the Aeon database fields. For example, it is often suggested to use "another unused field" to store data. We often run into the issue that these fields are character limited.
The max length of any text field seems to 255 characters, which can be totally impractical for some purposes. I am assuming that this might be because of the MS Word mail merge character limit?
Is there any reason why text fields could not not be expanded to something like…
