Allow automatic deletion of course and user records It would be great if Ares could be configured to automatically delete the records for old empty courses as well as the user records for students who are no longer taking classes.

Integrate with social annotation tools such as Perusall or Hypothesis Add the ability to use social annotation tools on reserve documents uploaded through Ares similar to how Canvas allows annotation tools on uploaded files in a course.

Termination Date Some of our streaming resources have license dates that have to be tracked. we need to be able to track this information to make decisions about whether to renew licenses or not. Please add a date "license ends" date field for these scenarios.

Allow the Instructor Item Tags column to show in the CloneItems table The Item table tag allows for the Tags column to show, but the list of items in the ICourseClone.html page is in the ClonedItems table tag and that one doesn't allow you to add the Tags column. (resource: https://prometheus.atlas-sys.com/display/Ares/Ares+TABLE+Tag)
It would be nice to be able to include the Tags column there so instructors would see if they want to clone the tags or not, and can check/uncheck items based on what they have them tagged with.

Notes Field in the Course Record Create a notes field in the course record to be able to add content such as if the course is offered online, deferred course, particular notes in regards to cloning or faculty preferences. In our case because our staff work on full courses, it would be useful to add their initials to quickly see who worked on it last.

Add "merge" functionality Rightsholder Maintenance. Currently there is essentially no good way to maintain duplicate records in Rightsholder Maintenance. I want to be able to merge duplicate records so that I can eliminate duplicates that have occurred because of staff turnover throughout the years without losing the copyright history on the rightsholder.

Allow instructors to search items across courses in web Students can search for items across all active courses. Instructors would like to search in this same way. Ideally it would show results for active courses and all courses (possibly below).

Allow Ares to store & display Preferred Name Allow Ares to store & display Preferred Name. This information could be received from Student Information System or added later in Ares system. Ares needs to be able to handle this field in the Client and DB and also be able to display the PName in the UI. This option should be backward compatible with existing data/DB.

Add Instructor Tags to Bulk Edit Items I would like to be able to bulk edit instructor tags in an ares course record. The bulk edit items button has a lot of columns that you can edit at one time, but it doesn't include the instructor tags column. If possible could we add this column to the bulk edit items button?

Ability to give subsets of students in the same course section access to different items in the reserves list. We have courses where students are assigned different readings (such as case studies) to work on in groups. We don't want to have to license a case study for all the students if only a subsection of the class needs to read a particular case.

Allow permalinks to course pages Currently, you can make permalinks to individual items but not the actual course pages. It would be helpful if you could link to the course pages as well.

Deep Linking in LMS (i.e. Brightpace) Continue to process items in the Ares client, however the link would appear in the LMS, specifically in Brightspace under the weekly modules. Faculty would essentially have their notes, links, and readings under one specified module.
Users would not have to use the drop down link in Brightspace to access readings outside the LMS.

Email templates: show instructor names as First Last (or separate first & last names entirely) rather than Last,First Starting in Ares 5.0, item-type email templates no longer draw from the User tags, and we must use either Course.Instructor or Course.InstructorDisplayName to insert an instructor's name in the email template. However, the default display for these fields is Last, First, so our emails now read "Dear Smith, Susan," rather than "Dear Prof. Smith" or "Dear Susan Smith" or "Dear Susan." Both Course.Instructor and Course.InstructorDisplayName show the same thing; if we change the display name in the course, both fields change. Additional ItemInfo fields We would like to have 5 additional ItemInfo fields added to the items table, 2 of which would be date formats for license data of streamed content. So we would have license StartDate and license EndDate for these items

Quickly and easily print a list of items from a queue. Staff would like a quick and easy way to print a list of items in a queue within Ares, without exporting a file to another program like excel. Perhaps first identify (a limited number of) columns desired in the printed list, as there are so many. If this could all be done in the client, with just a few steps, it would be great. Items would not necessarily have to be updated to another status, just printed. Or maybe update would be a toggle on/off option. the most important thing is to print the list. Enhance Custom Search / Grid Batch Options: Email, Tags, & Flags Staff users should be able to send batch emails from custom search results and other search result/appropriate grid lists. Staff users need to be able to remind large numbers of users about retrieving inactive reserve items and responding to unfilled "I will supply" items. These should be sent to the instructor and proxies designated with the course that owns the item record.
Staff users should be able to batch assign and remove tags in these same grids and custom search results.
