Facilitate batch cloning within staff client
If the original request says 1-25 for the box value, it would be great if Aeon knew to convert that one to 1 and then make 24 more each saying 2,3,4,5,6 etc. Also it would be good if it understood 1-4,7,10-12.
The interface should provide a grid of the resulting requests with an opportunity for staff to edit/correct any of them before they are created.

Restore "bright yellow" highlighting for modified but unsaved field values
Restore "bright yellow" highlighting for modified but unsaved field values or provide options for skin color palette customization. Previous default highlight color (#FEFD35) was well-liked by staff and none of the current skins offer a comparable attention-grabbing option.

Enable Recurring Appointments
Some of our researchers are requesting recurring appointments in our Reading Room, but we currently have to create a separate appointment for each individual date. It would be so helpful to be able to schedule those appointments all at once!

Information passed from another system into Aeon with a diacritics issue
I've recently noticed that diacritics appear as weird symbols when they are inserted into Aeon from ArchiveSpace.

Ability for staff to view uploaded reproduction in staff client
The University of Baltimore would like for staff to be able to view the reproduction that was delivered to the patron. They would like a "View" button, similar to the one that already exists for uploading other documentation to the request and user records. They do not want all staff accounts to have access to the "Logon to web" button, and the proposed View button would also be more convenient.

Allow users to select multiple dates/date spans in the Aeon appointment calendar
We desperately need for users to be able to choose more than one date on the calendar via a single request form. For researchers visiting for one week, for example, we would like them to be able to select their needed materials (from a finding aid, for example), and then be able to select the entire week they propose to visit, as opposed to having to submit a form for each day they want to visit (what if they are viewing one large collection for that entire week, for example - now they have to submit a form for each…

Add unique tracking entry when patron has downloaded electronically delivered file
No tracking entry is added when files are downloaded from the user's account after photoduplication delivery. Add entry in tracking table to indicate file was downloaded and make visible in both web and staff client tracking tables for each transaction.

Open electronically delivered items in separate tab or window
Add the functionality to have the electronically delivered file(s) open in a separate tab or window in the web browser. This way the user can still have their Aeon account viewable.

Custom Searches saved to Quick Access Toolbar should remain after search is closed
Custom searches added to the quick access toolbar disappear once the search tab is closed. It would be nice if they persisted so staff could perform routine daily searches from the toolbar without having to reopen the search tab everytime.

Allow library users sending e-mails to the Aeon Reference E-mail to include file attachments (.doc, .jpg, etc)
Sometimes library users asking Special Collections reference staff a reference question by e-mail find it useful to attach a file to the e-mail; for example some photograph or a scan of a document which they refer to in their e-mail. Library staff using Aeon when answering that reference question may find it useful to see the attachment, but the Aeon Reference e-mail module is not currently able to support file attachments; they are stripped out and converted to unintelligible masses of characters.

Allow creation of custom Activity emails or disable option in Customization Manager
In the Customization Manager, it is possible to create User, Transaction, and Activity type emails. However, the Activity emails are not accessible from the client once created. The only Activity email is the template.
These emails should either be made available from the Activity details or the option should be disabled.

Several Aeon users at RBMS 2018 have talked about the need for a virtual reading room to provide controlled access to born digital/digitized materials

Mark staff as inactive in staff manager
It would be nice to have the ability to mark staff as Inactive in the staff client. Our staff list is starting to grow as people rotate through, especially students and project archivists. Marking staff inactive would allow us to filter the list, and also it could be a convenient way to prevent disable inactive accounts from logging in.

Schedule Staff Notifications in Aeon Client
We have recently been thinking about how we can improve our staff communications in the Reading Room. We often have instances where staff need to be alerted to special arrangements, updates or events in the Reading Room in a timely manner.
It occurred to me that the functionality we are looking for is much like that available in the Aeon system when alert pop-ups occur for new requests for processing and users waiting to be cleared.
It would be ideal if editable alerts could be scheduled so that when staff log in to the Aeon Client, a pop-up appears with…

Specify a hold location in its own field for each item
Sites could benefit from a "hold location" field in the Transactions table for each item. When the item is placed on the hold shelf, staff can designate that location (similar to choosing a table when signing a person into the reading room). That value would then display in the grid for all items on hold and would automatically clear when the item was checked back in without staff having to remember to clear it.

Would this be an acceptable solution?
