Client: Have fields that allow multiple selections from a controlled vocabulary The University of Pittsburgh would like additional data types for custom fields, especially the ability to select multiple options from a controlled vocabulary in fields (custom or default) on the Aeon client side. There is an existing ticket in UserVoice specifically about the research topics field. Pittsburgh would be interested in being able to have multi-select fields in the activity record in order to record necessary stats for activities that fall into multiple categories.

Clearance status in the Appointments tab in the client In the Appointments tab, agenda view, you can currently see the researcher's name, user name, time slot, and number of requests. It would be helpful for there to also be an indication of their clearance status (perhaps with a column for cleared/not cleared, or by using a different text color or background shading for the different statuses). That way, it would be easy to look at the day's researchers and get a feel for how many are new, versus returning. Perhaps clearance status can show up in all the available views if possible.

Allowing users to toggle between reading rooms in the appointment booking calendar It would be helpful is users could toggle between reading rooms in the appointment booking calendar. It's confusing to have to select which reading room first then bring up the calendar. It should just be in one place. Thanks!

Preventing users from booking simultaneous appointments in two reading rooms We need a setting which prevents a user from booking simultaneous or overlapping appointments in two reading rooms at the same time.

Segmented request limits, per location For sites with multiple sites, it would be great to set segmented request limits per location instead of one shared request limit across all locations.

Automatically filter out disavowed users from user search When a user has created multiple accounts, one account will be disavowed via the user merge process. However, that account is typically listed first in search results. When a disavowed user's account is selected in a grid, the special highlighting/text color does not persist. Thus it is easy for staff to get confused and click the wrong user record. It would be helpful to have a button like the Active/All requests toggle, set to active by default, to automatically filter disavowed users out of search results to minimize confusion and prevent staff from re-clearing disavowed users.

Activities - include Activity ID in activities tab view of active activities The University of Pittsburgh has adapted the batch import template to allow for the import of requests into more than one activity. They did that by adding the activity ID field to the template. It would be easier to get the activity IDs if they were included in the fields that display when a staff person clicks on the Activities tab in the staff client and views the current activities. From this view, the table can be exported to Excel. It would be helpful if the activity ID was included in the export. The Activity ID field is not currently…

Appointments - different configurations for different request forms Boston Public Library would like the ability to have certain request forms, based on the format of the requested material, require longer lead times for appointment scheduling that are different from the reading room's typical appointment settings. The University of Pittsburgh would like to have some web request forms that are intended to be used by staff who don't have access to the Aeon client but need to submit requests for preservation, to not require appointments, while the other patron web request forms do require appointments.

Cancelling an appointment shouldn't automatically cancel requests I would also like to see cancelling an appointment not auto route a request to request finished. I would rather see it disassociated with an appointment so that staff can route / clone appropriately.

Adding waitlist functionality for appointment module We would love to see a waitlist functionality for users to sign up for when our reading room is full and a cancellation occurs. It would make slotting existing users in much easier as we're now trying to do this manually / on the fly as cancellations occur.

Add -force option to Aeon Server update scripts Add -force option to Aeon Server update scripts to make the update scripts download and install the latest, no matter what.
A couple of times I've run into instances where the update scripts failed for some reason, but then subsequent runs state no updates are available, yet some of the files have not been updated.

Add "open" exception type to appointment scheduling tab Allow staff to set an "open" exception for cases where the reading room is open. For example: if the reading room is open one Saturday per month, it would be preferable to set the open hours for Saturday and check a box to indicate the library is closed. But then add an "open" exception to indicate which Saturday is open rather than adding exceptions for all closed days.

Form-specific Status text Not all requests are the same, so not all web forms are the same semantically, so the status text on a form may benefit from being customized to the form semantics or origin. Right now, SLShowRequest and SLEditRequest in Customization Manager handle status lines for all requests. If we want to have different text for, say, the Photoduplication form from the Monograph form, we have to have empty values for SLShowRequest and SLEditRequest, and to add text to each form's HTML file. This also means adding text to each form's HTML file that should in fact get the same text.…
