Create addon to add an expiration date to a queue and automatically route requests once the date parameter has passed In the staff client, requests in the Item on Hold queue have no expiration, but most sites allow holds for 1-2 weeks. Create an addon that allows site to determine queue and number of days for requests to stay in that queue. When the number of days has elapsed, automatically route the request to another queue. EX: if a request is in Item on Hold and is allowed to be on hold for 2 weeks, set expiration for 14 days. When 14 days has passed, automatically route the request to Remove from Hold so staff can reshelve.

Add page up and page down buttons for Activity records like on Requests In client, add ability to page up or page down from the active Activities list, like you can from requests in a queue. When you open an active activity from the dashboard Activity tab, you have to close and reopen each activity to page through. Would be useful to have the page through buttons.

Remove flags from multiple requests at once We'd love to have the ability to "batch remove" flags from multiple requests in one action. Ideally this would provide an option to either 1) remove all flags from all selected requests, or 2) choose which flags to remove from selected requests.

Import location information from a file without staff mediation Many sites have location information stored in a variety of non-public formats (Excel, Access, etc.). They would like to have the location information imported into the Aeon request automatically if the title or some other unique value matches.
We have several sites who have asked about this but we need some additional info from you all. Who manages that file and do they typically have access to Aeon? How often is the file updated? Is it used for other purposes than special collections staff to know where things are? Could it (or a copy of it) live within the Aeon…

Option to store certain customization values securely There may be certain customization values in the Customization Manager that should be hidden by default, such as SMTP passwords, LDAP authentication settings, etc. Those values would not be readable through the interface but could be reset by staff with access to the Customization Manager.

Cancellation options for photoduplication orders Have a Reason for Cancellation drop-down option on the photoduplication ribbon's Cancel button, similar to the Reason for Cancellation option on the main request ribbon's Cancel button. This would help staff track reasons for cancellation of a duplication order (non-approval, non-payment, researcher changed mind, etc).

Filter notifications on web to only show emails sent to the user Right now, Aeon shows all notifications (emails) sent regarding a transaction. It's possible some of those emails may be internal in nature but there isn't a way to filter those out currently.
Either certain emails could be marked as "internal", during the email creation process and/or email routing entry, or emails could be filtered to only show those where the user's email address is in the TO or CC fields. This would be an issue if the user changed their email address, though.

Automated flag removal at time of reshelve Is it possible for the system to automatically remove the flag status at the time the item is "reshelved". Thus avoiding duplicate handling of the record and causing confusion of the number of items on selected locations.

Don't clone previous scheduled date when cloning activity requests When an activity is cloned, the new requests retain the previous scheduled date. Ideally, the new requests should be updated to include a new scheduled date equal to the begin date of the activity.

When users log in to Aeon Web, provide feedback for disavowed usernames Occasionally online users will create a new Aeon account not realizing that they have an existing account. We merge the records and disavow the duplicate, but when users try to log in with the disavowed username, the "Username not in database" message does not appear, just the message "Password incorrect"--because the username does exist, just disavowed. Can we have a separate message specifically to address logins with disavowed usernames, distinct from logins with active usernames?

Add an extra level to User Sign-In (for lockers, keys, etc) Would be great to have an additional level of sign in for users above the room level so that we could sign out lockers to users before they are assigned a seat.

Have all notifications sent from the system appear under "Notifications" in the web client Custom notifications do not appear under "Notifications" in the web client. Given that system-relayed emails are routinely bounced by email servers (this is a recurring problem for us), it would be helpful if emails that appear in the client on the history tab under "email history" were visible there.

Notification for duplicate requests submitted If a researcher requests something that is already on hold or in retrieval from a remote location, Aeon should alert staff to prevent duplicate paging or looking for things that are right behind them.

Recommendation system to suggest items to researchers based on users with the same research topic American Philosophical Society created a 1.0 version of a recommendation system for the Aeon web (called PAL - for People Also Liked) to show other items a researcher might want to request based on topics and requests in the system.
This could be expanded into its own web service for recommending items.
